Alona – New job!

Hi girls,

How are you all doing?

We are doing great here in Atlanta, we love the city (so many things to do….) the kids are growing sooooooo fast and Daniel is almost 1.(on Christmas day).

I started to work full time for the Israeli consulate (this is the only place that I can work for with out a visa because the consulate is an Israeli territory). I do part time in charge of all The Israeli's who lives in the south east of the US (culture – bringing singers, shows, ect and all the other problems that they are facing with) and the other part is to help the 2 consuls with special  projects that they are having. I love it even if it is not in my field of study.

I try shortly to find a job in finance and even got a great company who wanted me and was willing to sponsor my visa but at that time there were no h visas left until October 2006.

So……we are happy and busy….very busy…..

Tell me what is new with you ? how is the pregnancys going? The new borns?

If you ever get the chance to come to Atlanta, please let me know and you are always welcome to stay with us as long as you want.

I've been waiting for your good news. Chihiro is a cute name, and she looks the very picture of you!

As for me, my belly has become like a big watermelon, and it is getting hard to keep the balance… I'm excited about having a baby, but at the same time, a little bit scared.  But I will try my best!

Miho – Birth of Chihiro: Miho Milk Factory Now Open!

Hi!  As Helene does, I miss Bigmama with you all, too!

Please let me introduce our new family member.  Our daughter Chihiro (3262g) was born on November 12.   "Miho Milk Factory" is now operating 24 hours to feed her!  Hope she can join Bigmama!

Hi Helene and everybody!!!

Helene, I am very glad to hear about you! I've been thinking about you, and I remembered that Juan would start working in Nov, so you might be coming to Dallas soon… So, I hope you enjoyed your time in Mexico, and the other places that you visited!

Here is good, snowing again, cold again, but nice. I can't run outside anymore! I skied last Sunday in Kinglinton, there were about 10 trails opened. If you all want to ski, you can just call me and come! You can stay in my home!

Eduardo is going to Africa for a field study next Friday, for 3 weeks, but I will saty here! I continue going to the hospital, and I am starting babysitting too!

I miss our meetings!  I hope you all are very good!

Juan and I are still in Mexico with Juan's parents. Everything is fine. This
week end we went to the summer house of a friend of ours with an other
couple to spend some relaxing days lying on the sun and doing water skiing
on a lake in front of the house. It was just great!

The other day, I met Makiko in Tokyo.  She took me to a Russian restaurant.  The food was so good! At the same time, I missed our cooking session where I had been able to enjoy wonderful food ONCE IN A WEEK!

Hee sun,  I am very happy that both you and your baby are well!  These days my little one is busy moving just like "her" dad, Taka.  Yes, it is she!!  A girl.

Tam – Hello from Seattle – Take 2

Hey everyone!!!

I just got a job offer from Amazon last Friday!!!  I'm super excited about my new job.  I will be working as a product manager in the books division.  I'm super excited about it.  It will definitely expand my horizons and broaden my background!  It was definitely hard to go through the interview process.  I had 7 interviews total, spread out over 3 office visits and of the 7, I had 4 case interviews.  

Life is good.  Cem still likes his new job.  Weather is fantastic!!!  We went hiking today in the Alpine Lakes region of the Cascades mountain range.  12 mile hike, elevation gain about 2500 ft.  It was really nice.  Beautiful views…  There are so many nice hikes around here!!!

Tam – Hello from Seattle!

Hi everyone!!!

It's me – Tam! 

Here's the update on us.  Fortunately Seattle is nowhere as expensive as Tokyo, which is one of the reasons why I wanted to come here.  The weather has been fantastic!  Warm but not humid.  We even had several days in the 90's (Fahrenheit).  And at night, it's still warm enough not to wear a sweater or jacket.  We've been exploring the city.  This weekend we are going hiking to explore some of the fabulous surrounding parks and lakes.

We found a wonderful 1 bedroom apartment in Belltown – a fun, hip district of Seatle that is close to Downtown.  The building has a pool, 2 gyms, party room, movie theater room, courtyard with BBQ grills, etc.  We're on the top floor with high ceiling and skylights.  So we're really excited.

We did put in an offer to buy a condo.  But the deal fell through.  The sellers want more money even though there were no other offers on the table and we offer a very good price for the place.  I'm not sad at all – b/c we really like our apartment.  It's walking distance to everything – shops, restaurants, movie theaters, cafes, coffee shops, etc.  And the apartment has a lease that's really easy to break, so if we do find something, we can act right away.

I'm still looking for a job.  I have a 3rd round interview with Amazon tomorrow for a product manager position.  (I dearly hope to get the job!)   I'm also going back for 2nd round interview with a M&A boutique.  And I have a 1st round interview with a strategy consulting boutique.  All in all – lots of interviews.  But no job offers.  I trying to keep my spirits up…but it's hard. 

I miss you all.   I miss cooking with you and I miss our conversations.  I miss your laughter. 

Remmeber to send pictures if you take any…of your new house, city, neighborhood, trips that you took, etc…. (Alona, I wouldn't mind getting pictures of your boys…Akiko, likewise.)

Dear my friends,

I hope you guys don't forget me… I'm HeeSun!

Since we left Hanover in June, I have been so busy moving around the World.

We directly went to Hongkong from Hanover in June, and stayed 1 week to find a place to live but in fail.  Then we were back to Korea to visit our family where we flew to Jeju Island for a family trip. And finally we arrived in Hongkong on 1st of August. We fortunately found a nice place to live which has 3 bedrooms, 1 maid room, 3 bathrooms and also has luxurious facilities such as swiming pools, gym, and driving rage, plus huge mall. But don't be suprize. Here in Hongkong they say that housing is more expense than Tokyo(can you belive that, Miho jjang?), so the house is very tiny!

Housing is very expensive but everything else is very cheap in Hongkong, so I will be able to have live-in-maid by $500/month!

Ku will start his work from August 15th when he will go to Switzerland for a training, so I have to stay alone…

I went to see a doctor in Korea and had an ultra sound. It was so amazing that our baby already looked like Ku!

Makiko, congratulations on your baby! You should know that you have to be very careful before 13 weeks. Just stay in bed! That's all you have to do.

Alona, I'm so glad you love your new place. I'll call you as soon as we get new no.

Makiko – Hi from Makiko! – I’m Pregnant!

Hello from Tokyo, where we had a big earthquake and a big typhoon thesedays…!!!
It is so nice and exciting to hear that everyone is enjoying her new life all around the world.

As for me, I came back to Japan because of Kentaro's internship. I am enjoying my stay meeting my family and friends, but Kentaro, who is working late until midnight, looks a little tired… I feel sorry for him.

And as I told some of you, I have a little news… I got pregnant, too!  I have to go to the hospital several times because my condition is not good, but the doctor said  the baby is ok so far. I wish I could show you my little baby next year…please cross your
fingers for me, too!

Tam – Hi from Tam! – Big Mamas I miss you all

It's so nice to hear from you guys!!!!  I MISS you all so much!!!  I have to agree – we had such a good life in Hanover.  Very idyllic.

Cem and I had a horrendous time moving out.  We had so many home maintenance things to take care of – it took us over a week! after the movers moved out our stuff to fix up our place.  We even filled in the potholes in our driveway, chopped down a tree, etc.

But afterwards, we were able to relax and spend a month in Tureky.  It was great!  Very relaxing!  I even worked from Turkey since Cem's parents had DSL! 

Now we're in Seattle.  We got here last Friday.  Cem started work on Monday.  While we were in Turkey, we decided to buy a condo in Seattle using Cem's signing & relocation bonus for a down payment.  So we spent all weekend looking for a place, checking out different neighborhoods.  We got discouraged!  It was horrible.  There's a shortage of housing here (sounds familiar, eh?)…and there's nothing on the market for a reasonable price.  Anyways,we will continue to look for the next 2 weeks.  If we don't find anything, we'll rent.  Cross your fingers. 

I've been interviewing this week.  Amazon asked me back for a second round interview.  I'm crossing my fingers!!!  The hiring manager wants to move fast – which suits me just fine.  Since Cem's been working, it's been boring to be home…and I HATE the whole job search process!!!  Urgh!!!  And because I'm home, I'm expected to "keep house" – you know, cook, clean, keep the place tidy, iron, wash clothes, etc.  Yuk!!!  I can't wait to get a job, then I won't have to do as much.  I'm stll working for my professor in the meantime.

Cem, so far, likes his work.  I hope so – b/c I really like Seattle!  You all are invited to visit us.  We will be renting or buying a 2 bedroom apt. so please come!

Anyways, I'm still working on becoming a "big mama".  No change in status yet..I hate waiting!  I'm definitely no Cinderella – waiting patiently for her prince…  I'll let you all know when he "pops the question".  I hope it soon!  Better be…

Hi bigmammas!!!

How are you!! It's so nice to hear from you Miho, Alona and Cristina!!! it's
so strange to know that each of us are in diferent part of the world.

Juan and I arrived in Mexico Monday night. We travelled around the States
for 2 weeks and have had a wonderful time! We stayed 4 days in Chicago. It's
a great city, we loved it!!  We also spent one day in Cape Cod and Newport
(Rode Island) and a week in Dallas with a friend of Juan. We visited a lot
of apartments and more or less know where we would like to live in November.

Now we are in Juan's parents house for 3 months. We haven't done a lot of
things yet but I'm going to start seeing my friends.

I'm thinking of you a lot, and miss you all very much….Let' s keep in
touch as much as possible!!
